The title, Chroma Krieg, means Color War. This was inspired by the title of the song I used, "Ballroom Blitz". Blitz is short for Blitzkrieg, which is German for "A swift, sudden military offensive". Krieg means "war". I thought it was interesting imagening the colors and shapes in the animation as either fighting each other or being the result of explosions from a war.

This project was made using Adobe Photoshop to create the images and Premier Pro to edit. I used the pen tool to draw the words for the title. The other images were made by chooseing a limited pallet, then changeing the background layer's color on certain beats within the song. The spinning images, as well as the shooting zebra stripes, were drawn on paper then scanned, and some were modified further within photoshop to clean up edges and such. I used the triwl filter to create the spinning spiral in the upper left hand corner. The red bar at the bottom was made with the rectangle tool, and altered for each frame useing the pen tool as well as the eraser. The firework began as a photograph which was changed for each frame mainly useing the eraser and smudge tool. The background images are .tif and the foreground images are interlaced .png.

In Premier I added fades and disolves to the audio and video to make smooth transitions between images, and at the begining and end of the entire clip.

Most of my ideas for this animation came from simply listening to the song clip and imagining what kinds of images and colors I think those sounds would make. The end result was many different images which fit together because they are different.
